Short Biography

  • 1970 born in Münster (Westfalen)
  • 1989 A-levels
  • 1990-1994 Studies of Near Eastern Archaeology, Pre- and Early Medieval History, and Assyriology in Heidelberg, Saarbrücken, and Cambridge. M. Phil. with a written thesis on „Problems with Ninevite 5 – on the definition of a cultural assemblage“.
  • 1995-2000 Doctoral Studies in Münster. Titel of the dissertation „Metallobjekte der Bronzezeit aus Nord-Baktrien“.
  • 2001-2002 Travel Grant of the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut (DAI).
  • 2004-2005 Lecturer in Jena and Moscow.
  • 2005-2011 Assistant to the Institute of Near Eastern Archaeology at LMU Munich.
  • since 2011 Managing Director of the Department of Ancient and Modern Cultures and researcher at the Institute of Near Eastern Archaeology
  • 2021 State Doctorate in Near Eastern Archaeology
