kiriJust classic: kiri cream-cheese, well-known from back home, was also available in the excavation campaigns - although in local design. And after the treat, the box was used for storing small finds.

Storage items

Storage of small finds: In the collection of the Institute, we found besides the replica of small finds a marvelous assemblage of storage items, used for repositing the various objects.

Nowadays, standardised plastic boxes and bags (the latter at best with zipper) are purchased in thousands per year during a field project. Yet, there can still occur situations, when you come back to the packet of biscuits that, once emptied from its original content, is suitable also for keeping archaeological finds. In the heydays of the Isin project, this was apparently more or less the rule, in consideration of the many packages found in the collection containing items of scientific interest.
