Further Work

Small-scale sounding work and excavations in the Lower Town resulted in a re-discovery of the "cultic room" excavated by von Oppenheim to the south and of the "town temple" to the west of the town. Furthermore, we had the opportunity to examine the town wall anew and we also discovered an elite residential building. The excavations were supported by geomagnetic prospections.

Both the citadel and the Lower Town were inhabited well into the Hellenistic and Parthian epoch (3rd century B.C. until 2nd century B.C.).
