For current information please refer to the homepage of the University Library

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our library forms part of the Historicum's library and is in-house. Its inventory comprises works from 1739 until today.

In the Library of the Historicum you have to be personally present; you cannot borrow anything.

User's Instructions (PDF)

The monographies of Near Eastern Archaeology, shelfmark LE, can be found on the first floor. New arrivals are presented every other week on the ground floor on the tables behind the stairs.

New arrivals of magazines are presented for about two weeks in room no. 428 of the institute, before they are integrated in the Historicum's library; we therefore recommend to view them at short and regular intervals (once a week).

Shelfmark System (PDF)

Shelfmark research can be done via the system OPAC of the (University Library) Universitätsbibliothek München. Furthermore, you have the possibility to do research and borrow a large part of our specialist literature via the OPAC of the (Bavarian State Library) Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.

The magazine stock of the Institute of Near Eastern Archaeology forms an integral part of the Historicum's magazine system and can be found, depending on the shelfmark, in the basement and on the 4th floor.  An overview of the most important specialist literature with shelfmarks (PDF) in alphabetical order facilitates their research/locating; work on literature research according to individual magazine articles is in progress.

A large part of our magazines can also be called via the electronic magazine data bases of the University library and of the Bavarian State library.
