Who are we?

The Students' Council of Near Eastern Archaeology represent the students' interests on the one hand, but also intend to create a pleasant athmosphere at the Institute by organising diverese activities. Should you have any questions about or problems in your studies, please step up to us. Everyone interested in Near Eastern Archaeology is welcome to join the Student's Council. Just pop in room no. 421 or write us an email. We are always happy about new faces!

What do we do?

The Students' Council of Near Eastern Archaeology organises diverese activities, such as:

Regulars' Tables

Stammtisch VFPA+VAAusually take place during the term every other week. They are a perfect opportunity to get to know fellow students and advice and tricks for your studies.

                                   

Uni Plakat Sommerfest 2015Summer and Christmas Parties

are organised annually by the students's council and are very popular.

Lectures

We are constantly looking for young academics who would like to give a lecture within the framework of the Colloquium on The Ancient Near East. Please contact us per mail or telephone; reimbursement can be negotiated.



Participation in the Winckelmann Cup

The Winckelmann Cup is a soccer competition organised annually by different universities. Participants are archaeologists from institutes all over Europe.

Excursions

BerlinEx201601The destination of our excursions are mostly cities within Europe.
There we visit museums, exhibitions, and universities dealing with Near Eastern Archaeology.
For instance, we have gained insight into the archives of the museums in Berlin, Bern, Istanbul or Stockholm.
